Darum Magazine

Darum is a magazine that I co-founded with Fabian Wohlfart, Jonas Götz and Jan Motyka.
We started it as independent student magazine of our design faculty. In the beginning we launched an online platform which collected and presented student work.

Later on we documented 71 projects we received and added 11 texts submitted by teachers and and professors. The theme of the first edition was “Kennenlernen” (getting to know). The articles ranged from philosophical essays to recipes and playlists. Each had a different take and perspective on the term.

The structure and design of the magazine is based on those 11 texts. We connected projects that resonated with certain aspects of the texts and clustered projects based on themes and formal characteristics. The result is a eclectic mix of projects that creates surprising connections and tells a story throughout the magazine.
