Weltstadt
The project Weltstadt – Who creates the city? is a joint initiative of the Goethe-Institut and the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. Who creates the city? Who shapes its future? – Inspired by these central questions, Weltstadt – Who creates the city? connects projects by various Goethe-Institutes and their local partners. Notwithstanding different formats and approaches, they share a common interest in testing urban visions and new constellations of actors.
At Studio Matthias Görlich I worked on an series of 13 newspapers that document different city planning projects around the globe. All newspapers are connected by an overarching design system. Yet every issue has it's own design principles that is based on the project's theme and content.
Based on the newspapers we designed an adaptable, easy to set-up exhibition system and toolbox. The Weltstadt exhibition is currently travelling the world. More information and exhibition pictures can be found on the project's website.
